Short answer

I integrate payments into web and mobile apps with Stripe and QNBPay: one-off payments, subscriptions, webhook handling and the 3D Secure verification flow. Where payments usually break

A user can close the tab before returning to your site after paying. So payment status must be updated from the event the provider sends to your server (the webhook), not from the redirect. If the same event arrives twice, it must not create two orders. I set these details up correctly from the start.
